Their friendship started when Bruno K approached Nakazibwe with the idea of creating a song inspired by her, which he later titled "Faridah." When Brielle's mother, Rachael Nasasira, fell ill, Bruno K informed Nakazibwe about the situation. Concerned about the child's well-being, Nakazibwe invited Brielle to stay with her.

In an interview, Nakazibwe revealed that when Brielle arrived, she quickly grew fond of the child, and her children also liked Brielle. The news anchor became a mother figure to Brielle, and she eventually started calling her "mummy." When Brielle's mother passed away, Nakazibwe remained in Brielle's life as a foster mother.

Despite the intimate lyrics in Bruno K's song "Faridah," which includes pictures of Nakazibwe in the music video, both have maintained that they are just friends and have never been romantically involved.
