GNL Zamba's Homecoming: Revitalizing Ugandan Hip-Hop. Rapper Ernest Nsimbi Zamba, widely known as GNL Zamba, has revealed plans to return and permanently settle in Uganda with his family.

Previously, GNL Zamba had hinted at aspirations to enter the film industry and pursue a career in Hollywood. Now, however, he has shifted his focus toward revitalizing Ugandan hip-hop. He sees immense, untapped potential in the genre, viewing it as a powerful tool for education, communication, and cultural transformation, especially for Uganda’s youth.

In a heartfelt social media post, GNL Zamba shared his vision for elevating the Ugandan music industry and reshaping the hip-hop scene. As head of Baboon Forest Entertainment, he announced his plans to buy a one-way ticket back to Uganda, expressing a strong commitment to infusing the culture with new life, direction, and purpose.

“Dear Forest, I’m buying a one-way ticket to Uganda. It is time to breathe new life, direction, and vision into the culture. I see that hip-hop is heavily underutilized, misunderstood, misinterpreted, criticized, and mismanaged, yet it has the potential to uplift, educate, communicate, and change the trajectory of our youth and communities, opening up infinite opportunities! I’m coming home—hope to see you all. Together, Tunawakilisha.”
