The finale of Britain's Got Talent 2023 featured the selection of talented youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Triplets Ghetto Kids, a Ugandan dance troupe, received a standing ovation from all four Britain's Got Talent judges—Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, and Alesha Dixon. Alesha and Simon singled out the Ghetto Kids as the standout act in the semi-final of the competition.

Taking to Instagram, the Kids joyfully announced their qualification for the grand finale and expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to their journey.

"We have made it to the FINALS ?????????????? God is Great!" they posted. "Thank you, @bgt, this is a monumental moment for us, Uganda, and Africa! We extend our heartfelt thanks to our British fans for voting!

"We also want to express our gratitude to our amazing team, our choreographers @namataesther, @nandalamathew, @chamuka_africaug, and @rickydux_idu!

"Our appreciation goes out to our family @reema80, @ronnievybz_tfug, @angelaymoore, @marionjay17, @kavuma_tfug, @bakundachishala, and everyone else."

During their initial performance, which aired on April 15, Bruno Tonioli, a new judge on the show, was captivated by the Kids' mesmerizing dance moves to the song "Mi Gente" by J Balvin and Willy William. Impressed by their talent, the Italian choreographer, ballroom and Latin dancer, and television personality exclaimed, "I have to do it now," before hitting the golden buzzer.

The act of pressing the golden buzzer is when a judge or host decides to send a specific audition directly to the live shows, bypassing further rounds of selection. Typically, the golden buzzer is pressed after the performance.

"This is unprecedented," remarked Simon Cowell, the creator of the Got Talent franchise and a member of the judging panel.

Tonioli added, "I made a mistake!"

Cowell continued, "This has never actually happened before... Usually, the golden buzzer is pressed after the performance... He pressed it for you, and you performed amidst the confetti, creating a magical moment." Dauda Kavuma, also known as Teacher Teacher and the manager of the Triplets Ghetto Kids dance group, expressed that it was their first time in London.
