Bruno K explains why he abandoned his Amooti-inspired stage name.

Around 8 years ago, Bruno Kiggundu, also known as Bruno K, began his music career by participating in Airtel Trace Music competition organized by the legendary John Kazoora. He was a runner-up in the competition.

Bruno K, who struggled with his music career after being a runner-up in John Kazoora's Airtel Trace Music competition and winning only a Samsung S4 handset, found himself performing in little-known bands. However, everything changed when MC Kats discovered him while performing at Centenary Park. According to Bruno, MC Kats told him that he did not belong there.

According to Bruno, he used to go by the name "Boogie B," which he got from comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi, whom he admired. However, he was advised by MC Kats to change it to something more authentic. Bruno stated that MC Kats told him to be himself and suggested he use his second name, Kiggundu, as part of his stage name. Bruno took this advice and adopted the name Bruno K, a decision he considers the best one he ever made because he cannot imagine himself being called Boogie B at this point in his career.

The artist behind the hit song "Drink One for The Road" now has a flourishing music career, a significant social media fan base, and a stable source of income. As a result, he is optimistic about his future prospects. In addition, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism at Victoria University.
